After breakfast, undertake a sightseeing city tour of Accra.

Visit some of the highlights in Accra like the Osu Chief's Palace for an insight on the history of the Ga people.

Visit the Osu castle, Built by the Danes around 1659 and originally called Christiansburg Castle, Osu Castle was the seat of government until 2013, when the president and his office moved to Flagstaff House. It remains closed to visitors for the time being, and photographs are not allowed.

Visit the old colonial neighbourhoods of James Town and Usher Town, an interesting area to explore on foot. Also, visit the old fishing harbour, climb to the Usher Lighthouse, stroll through the fishing communities and optionally wander around the Mokola Market.

Continue your way to the Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Mausoleum, the final resting place of the first president of Ghana.

Visit the Artist Alliance Gallery and the Art Centre, where traditional arts craftworks among wooden sculptures and paintings, and Ghanaian fabrics are displayed.

Take a break for a refreshing lunch at a local restaurant.

Resume your tour to pay a visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre. The Museum is dedicated to Mr. Du Bois, a prominent American pan-African of the 20th century.

During weekdays, you can visit the workshop of Trashy Bags, where they make different types of accessories out of plastic trash.

After breakfast, depart early in the morning to the Akosombo Port for a cruise on the largest man-made lake in the world, the Lake Volta.

Get aboard the "Dodi Princess" yacht where you will dance to the sweet sounds of live highlife music played by the cruise boat resident band. Enjoy the calmness of the lake and bask in the beckoning beauty of the mountain scenery and surrounding.

Enjoy lunch on board the yacht, return to the port and continue to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

There are different water related activities available on request. For example, rent a canoe or go for some swimming in a nearby pool, or undertake a guided boat trip on the river. A boat excursion to one of the islands in the middle of river could be organised.

After breakfast, enjoy the morning in Akosombo and visit the Akosombo Dam, which is used to produce hydro-electricity. The Volta Lake is cited to be one of the worlds' largest manmade water reservoirs, however unfortunately it is not able to meet Ghana's growing demand for electricity. There are guided tours available.

Continue your journey to Sogakope another town along the Volta Lake.

Arrive in Sogakope, check-in at your hotel and enjoy an early lunch.

After lunch, a possible excursion is to visit the village Tosukpo where you could possibly (on request) undertake an adventurous excursion to the wetlands of the Avu Lagoon, home to the only aquatic antelope, the Sitatunga, and a variety of exotic savannah and water birds. Walk to the picturesque village of Bludo which is surrounded by water and sugar cane plantations or engage in one of the other excursions in the Avu Lagoon area, like a visit to the local gin distillation and also interact with the indigenes.

Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, explore more of Sogakope in the morning and depart for a scenic journey to Ada on the Eastern fringes of the Greater Accra Region.

Arrive in Ada, check-in at your hotel and enjoy lunch.

Visit the village of Azizanya on the estuary of the Volta River. The Elders of the village will take you through their fishing culture and explain how they are able to navigate the estuary which has an under-current of over seven knots.

Spend the rest of the day engaging in any of the following activities: canoeing, jet skiing, pedallo, or a range of water sports on the Volta River or simply relax and enjoy the view. (Rates for activities are not included in package price).
